Meow Wolf, Grapevine, Texas, 2023
I have been fascinated with creating other worlds and creatures for the expanse of my art career, and lately I have been focused on dying forms of information. Phone books, brochure stands, etc. When I found out the new Meow Wolf location would be at Grapevine Mills Mall, I was intrigued for several reasons. One, this was my childhood mall, and two, malls are a dying. The idea of this re-birth to the space made me think of a realm that transcends capitalism’s strong desire to create temporary consumer experiences, and instead have a place where nostalgic dead information sources and culture can live. The mural is about 21’ feet in total.
